The Tata Nexon is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by the Indian automaker Tata Motors since 2017. It is the first crossover SUV from the brand, and occupies the sub-4 meter crossover SUV segment in India. The Car is based on the revised Tata X1 platform debuted in 1998 with the Indica model and adopted by other Indian brand cars.
Tata Motors launched the face lifted Nexon with feature additions and Bharat Stage 6-compliant engines in January 2020, and showcased to the general public in the Auto Expo 2020. The Nexon received major changes on the exterior, now based on the Impact 2.0 design language. The new vehicle is equipped with a Bharat Stage 6-compliant Diesel & Petrol engine Variant.
Most of the models of Tata Nexon come in Diesel & Petrol variants. Tata Nexon is available in seven variants – XE, XM, XMA, XT, XZ, XZ+, and XZA+. The Car also has its electric version Nexon EV.
The electric version of the Nexon was revealed on 19 December 2019. The Nexon EV uses components from Tata Motors’ electric vehicle technology brand Ziptron. The electric motor produces 94.7 kW (127 hp; 129 PS) and 245 Nm (181 lbf⋅ft) of torque and 0 – 100 under 9.9 seconds. It has a 30.2 kWh battery with an ARAI rated range of up to 312 km.
The battery can be fully charged in under 8 hours using a complimentary AC charger. It can also be charged using a 15-ampere power cable that can be used at any place with the necessary power socket. DC 25 kW fast charging can be used to charge the battery from 0 to 80% in 1 hour.
Tata started a subscription plan for the Nexon EV in August 2020. It was reported that Nexon EV was the best-selling electric vehicle in India in 2020.
1. Dimension & Capacity:
Tata Nexon is a crossover SUV which has impressing dimensions. It has length of 3993 mm, width of 1811 mm and its height is about 1606 mm; with a wheelbase of 2498 mm, the car is furious on road. The Unladen Ground Clearance is 209 mm. Tata Nexon has got amazing boot space of 350 L and 44 L of Fuel Tank capacity.
2. Engine & Performance:
The Tata Nexon has 1 Diesel Engine and 1 Petrol Engine on offer. The Diesel engine is 1497 cc while the Petrol engine is 1199 cc. It is available with the Manual & Automatic transmission. ARAI Mileage is 21.5 kmpl; depending upon the variant and fuel type the car is expected to deliver city mileage of 19.03-24 kmpl. Both the engines get three different drive modes – Sport, City and Eco. Tata Nexon can reach 0 to 100 kmph in just 13.25 seconds.

Nexon has simple but moderate braking system. It has got Disc and Drum brakes overall.

Tata Nexon has got Independent Lower Wishbone McPherson Strut with Coil Spring suspension on front and Semi-Independent; closed profile Twist beam with Coil Spring and shock absorber on Rear.
Nexon has got the super handy Power steering with tilt column and Rack & Pinion type gear. The turning radius is 5.1 m.
