Car racing is one of the few existing automobile competitions which has been there almost since the time cars were invented. It is conducted in order to examine various aspects like the skills of the racers, various technological developments of the models, and the capability they hold. 

One of the earliest such events were the ones that held trials which proved that the various new machines invented by different companies could be used as an effective mode of transport. But as years passed, they became the platform to showcase their inventions. By the early era of the 1900s, specifically in the 1930s, racing cars, especially for the purpose of racing itself were developed. The objective of inventing the World’s first Automobile race car was to promote the business and this objective was given a shape and made alive by Emile Levassor and Rene Panhard. The first car to win America’s first automobile race in 1895 was The Zippy Roadster. It had an average speed of 5mph. 

Well, science has advanced, almost at the speed of a race car. Modern-day race cars are way faster and can reach miles within a blink of the human eye. There are various categories of Auto racing – Open-wheel racing, Sports Car Racing, Production Car racing, etc. 

Let’s discuss the Sports cars used for Auto racing. 

Sports cars are usually low built-in Designs to perform excellently at high speed. It comes with a roof that can be folded. Sports Cars besides their high speed, are designed in the utmost chic manner. The Cars Racing on their track can be compared to highly paid models walking down the fashion aisle in their most elegant fabrics. Sports cars are gifted with some of the best special features-

  • The Aerogel technology helps in cutting down the temperature as they are driven. 
  • The design of the car carcass is made to be ultra sleek and streamlined, such that it reduces the centre of gravity and enhances their performance while racing, aided with four-wheel steering.
  • The Cars have a spoiler that rises automatically and an engine that tweaks pump up Horsepower. 

Science has come a long way and has miles to go, before Doomsday. It is expected that the future cars will come in with much cooler aspects. Almost every automobile company has its own version of these hybrid sports cars. It is really hard to list the top 5 fastest cars in the world, but here it is as follows:

In the October of 2020, the SSC Tuatara broke the record of almost impossible 300 mph, with its own speed of 331 mph. This amazing car comes with a 1750 Horsepower and along with it has some amazing specifications. It has an engine which has a capacity of 5.9 Litre Flat plane Crank V-8. The Torque is 1280 Pound-feet. The company has produced only 100 pieces of the following model, which costs $1.6 million.

2. Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+

In order to set a new benchmark, Bugatti created an enhanced version of the already existing Bugatti Chiron. The French Firm took a more powerful engine from the Centodieci, with 1578 Horsepower, added much longer gear ratios, and revamped the aerodynamics that increased the length by almost 10 inches. The 2.0 version of the standard car hit a top speed of 304.7 mph on August 2.

3. Koenigsegg Agera RS –

The Agera RS became the fastest car when it extended the yardstick and showed off an acceleration from 0 to 200 mph, braking from 200 to 0 mph and back. This car boasts an engine capacity of a twin-turbo, 5.0 litre-V-8.

4. Hennessey Venom GT –

Despite having one of the very few finest features of its time only 13 of this model were manufactured. It boasts of a Twin Turbo, 7.0-liter V-8 engine under the hood. There might be controversies a well as different opinions on which one of the cars is in the Top 5, but let’s face it, the records are built in order to be broken.
