Engine Care

It is important to maintain an adequate engine oil level at all times. You should check the oil level regularly. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Make sure your car is on level ground before you proceed. Then turn your engine off and wait for some time to let the oil return to the oil pan. Following that, locate the dipstick, take it out and wipe it clean. Insert it fully and pull it out to note the oil level. Ideally, the level should be somewhere between the MAX and MIN markings on the dipstick. However, if it is close to the lower marking or has fallen below it, you need to top up the engine oil. Moreover, if your oil appears to be brown or milky, it is time to change your oil entirely along with the filter.

Additionally, you should note that the oil consumption rate depends upon your driving habits and conditions so you should examine your oil levels accordingly. Furthermore, keep in mind that you should not remove the filter cap when then the engine is running.

Secondly, you have to check the brake fluid level frequently. The level should be between the ‘MIN’ and ‘MAX’ markings on the side of the brake fluid container. If the level has fallen below the ‘MIN’ mark, you need to top it off. However, do not allow the brake fluid to come in contact with your skin or eyes. You have to be careful to not let it spill onto the paint surface, if it comes in contact, wipe it off immediately.

Engine Coolant

Be sure to check the engine coolant level regularly. The fluid level should be between the high and low markings provided on the coolant reservoir. Refill the fluid if necessary. If the coolant level has fallen below the lower limit, you can use a large quantity of water without the coolant, in order to reach the service location. However, this should be used only in case of an emergency. Always keep in mind to use Tata Motors’ recommended engine oil, brake fluid, and engine coolant only.

Battery Care

Tata Nexon maintenance also includes checking your battery fluid levels. You can do this by measuring them against the markings provided on the battery’s outer case. Make sure that the terminals aren’t corroded. If there are any deposits around the terminals, you can wipe them off with a solution of baking soda and water. It will bubble up and turn brown, after which you can remove it with a cloth and allow it to dry. You can further prevent the terminals from corroding by applying a coat of petroleum jelly or terminal grease on them. However, remember to always disconnect the terminals before you clean them. Disconnect the negative terminal first and reconnect starting with the positive one. Always ensure that the battery is securely mounted and keep it away from any sparks or flames.

Tire care

It is important to maintain adequate tire pressure at all times. You should get your tire pressure checked every time you refill your fuel. Make sure that the tires are cold. Get them refilled if the level has fallen below the required limit. However, be careful to not overfill them. Correct tire pressure ensures uniform wear and is an important part of Tata Nexon maintenance. Underinflated tires can lead to excessive side tread wear, fuel wastage, and failures during high temperatures. Meanwhile, over-inflation can lead to excessive center tread wear. It also makes the tires prone to uneven wear and damage from road hazards.

Additionally, to help increase the life of your tires, you should rotate them at specified intervals of time. This helps to distribute the wear and damage evenly.

Maintaining wheel alignment and balance is also an essential part of Tata Nexon maintenance. If you are experiencing abnormal vibration while driving on a smooth road, you should have your wheels balanced properly.
