The all-new eighth-generation Hyundai Sonata will launch in India in 2022. Hyundai Sonata is a mid-size family sedan with a new sporty design and the best of the tech features. Named after the musical term Sonata, Hyundai has been manufacturing Sonata since 1985. With modifications in each generation to keep up with the latest trending features, Hyundai has kept Sonata as one of the top options in its mid-size family car option for decades. Hyundai Sonata Prices

The expected showroom price of the all-new Sonata car in India is Rs. 19.20-20.77 lakh. It is laden with a great interior and exterior design that gives a sporty look and feel.

The all-new Hyundai Sonata will compete with Toyota Innova Crysta, Jeep Compass, MG ZS EV, Volkswagen T-Roc, Tata Safari and Kia Carnival in the category of mid-size family cars. Also, Hyundai Sonata is a legacy of South Korean manufacturer Hyundai and people always look forward to what the next generation of this car has to offer.

Engine and Performance

The car comes with a 2.0-litre Inline-4 hybrid engine. The engine power is 152 PS with 188 Nm and the torque produced by the engine is 250 Nm at 4250 rpm. It has 4 fuel cylinders and is a petrol variant. The Sonata Hybrid was launched in the international market with a solar panel integrated into the roof panel for the purpose of charging the batteries. As per the claims of Hyundai, the charging roof system will increase the car’s range by 1300 km in one year. The electric motor has a power of 52 PS and 205 Nm. However, the combined power output of the Sonata car will be 195 PS.  

Further, the transmission of the vehicle is automatic only with a 1989 cc engine and 6-speed transmission. Sonata Hybrid complies with the BS-VI emission norms and is 21% more efficient than previous versions of Sonata. Also, the front suspension is strut-type while the back suspension is multi-link type. Further, the mileage of the Hyundai Sonata as per ARAI in an automatic transmission is 12.37 kmpl and in manual transmission, mileage is 13.44 kmpl.

Design of Hyundai Sonata

Exterior

The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid car is made on the lines of Hyundai’s fluidic 2.0 designs. As highlighted by Hyundai, the all-new Sonata Hybrid car is more sensuous and has more volume with sharp edges and a sharp look. Sonata Hybrid is a 5-seater car that features a radiator grille with black & chrome coating, projection headlamps with Daytime running light bulbs, 4 MFR type LED headlamps and projection type LED headlamps at the front. Further, The sides have a really sleek look and the wheels are 17-inch x 7-inch tubeless tyres. The rear of the Sonata Hybrid is well crafted with an aerodynamic tail lamp aero pin. The rear of the car features an LED rear combination lamp and an LED high mount stop lamp.

Interior

The car comes with three colour tone options for the interior- black, greige-two-tone, and Carmel-two-tone. The interior texture of the Sonata Hybrid is leather-black. The cabin of Sonata Hybrid provides a rich and elegant experience. The seats are super comfortable customised to support the S-curve of the spine. Further, the interior of the Sonata car also features an AVN touchscreen which enhances the experience of using a smartphone connected with a car. It features front and back speakers, Bluetooth connectivity and USB & Auxiliary Input in a touchscreen entertainment unit.  

Further, the interior features a 12.3-inch full LCD cluster that presents an Integrated Driving Mode such as Comfort, Eco, Smart, or sport mode. Also, each driving mode has a unique colour to make the automatic transmission and shifting between driving modes easier for the driver. Also, the interior cabin has AC, Heater, ABS (AntiLock Braking System), Central locking feature with adjustable steering, power steering and power windows. Hyundai claims it to be in sync with the digital times offering maximum engagement, easy navigation and reclined comfortable seats with a rich elegant look.

Also, this car has a number of safety features. Some of them are as follows
